HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN FOOD FOREST GARDEN!

Learn about the trees the Arboretum is currently growing that are great for people and wildlife, such as mayhaw, pawpaw, Chickasaw plum, southern crabapple, black cherry, and more. Plant a “fruit forest” with Crosby Arboretum Director Pat Drackett, who will introduce a variety of trees, shrubs and other edible plants, mostly native species. Includes a brief history of fruit production, Native American use of fruits and foods, and fruit crops best adapted to Mississippi. This “Smart Landscapes” program is free to Arboretum members, and $7 for non-members.
