Breathing, Meditation and Other Wellness Practices: Stretching, anatomy and physiology of respiration, breathing techniques and rhythms

Saturday, April 26, 1:00 to 3:30 p.m.

This class is part one of a five-part series covering information and techniques to put you in touch with the connection between our Mind, our Body, and our entire Being. Quieting our mind helps us to become aware of what is going on in our bodies and helps us to listen to our inner voice. In the series of classes, calming techniques such as deep breathing, meditation and progressive muscle relaxation will be taught, the connection between physical disease and spiritual/emotional issues will be discussed, and alternative/complementary healing modalities based on Eastern medicinal practices will be explored. Further study of some of these healing modalities will be experienced.

The series of classes will be held once a month on the fourth Saturday for five months. You are welcome to select only those classes you wish or attend the full series for a better understanding. The instructor is Kathy Anzelmo, who holds a B.S. in secondary education and Master of Arts in Science Teaching and has taught Biology at the high school and college level for 35 years. Kathy also has been meditating since 1971 and has been a Healing Touch Practitioner since 1995. These continuous classes will be held once a month on the fourth Saturday for five months, with information building upon each previous class. Members $10, non-members $15.
